Sportfishing in San Diego

The recreational fishing industry was the focus of the annual San Diego Port Tenant's Association dinner this year. Opening remarks for the event were made by Mayor Kevin Falconer and the video above was shown highlighting our industry.

WHALE WATCHING

Grey whales, blue whales, fin whales, and orcas all frequent the California coast. Whale watching tours throughout the region offer trips ranging from three hours to ten days. In addition to viewing whales, passengers have the opportunity to see dolphins, sea lions, and other marine mammals in their natural habitats.

SPORTFISHING

The Eastern Pacific region boasts some of the finest local and offshore fishing in the world. With great weather year-round, and a one-of-a-kind fishing fleet, a memorable experience is available for all levels of anglers, from novice to experienced.

DIVING

The California coast is a playground for divers with several world-class sites. Here, divers can explore Catalina, the Channel Islands, San Clemente Island, and Isla Guadalupe. Passengers have a variety of boats and adventures to choose from as they venture out on trips ranging from several hours to multiple days.

COAST GUARD

This section is intended for use by commercial passenger fishing vessels (CPFV) that hold a Certificate of Inspection. Included here are several documents and forms required to comply with U.S. Coast Guard rules and regulations.
